The Committee

The Kingston trials are, in large part, fired by volunteers. The enthusiasm and energy that each brings is, in no small way, the making of us.

Amanda Milliken and Karen Curtis have been part of the organizing committee for all of its thirty eight years. Karen grew up and continues to live almost next door to Grass Creek Park, in Joyceville, Ontario. She has had the same postal code all her life. If you want to get things done, always ask a busy person. She is busy. She is the piano playing member of Sand Hill Presbyterian Church, a legal assistant at Doug MacPherson Law Office, and indispensable at another friend of the trial, Clow Farm Equipment.

The Kingston Sheep Dog Trials is an incorporated body. Amanda Milliken, Karen Curtis make up the board which governs the nuts and bolts of the trials. They have recently been joined by Lynda Breen and Lesley Kimble, retired city employees who are now volunteering to support the sheep dog trials; and Carolyn Barnett, a past-fifteen-year vendor in the artisan market. They are also ably assisted by City of Kingston special events staff Jon Hayter and Mark Rodenhizer. All are dedicated to the success of this event.

The committee wishes to thank the many volunteers who help to make this event happen. A special thanks to K4 Paws.
